Gareth Taylor says City are eager to make the most of being back on home soil as we prepare to play host to Reading in Wednesday’s latest FA Women’s Super League clash.

After a run of fixtures on the road, including our Continental Cup final triumph, five of City’s remaining seven league games will be at the Academy Stadium as the race to finish in the top three – and with it a place in the Champions League - intensifies.

Aside from that league quintet, City also have a home Women’s FA Cup quarter-final against Everton to look forward to on Sunday.

And, addressing the media at his pre-match press conference ahead of Wednesday night’s visit of Reading, the City boss said the squad were hugely excited about being back playing in front of our fans.

Asked if he felt there would be a benefit of so many of our fixtures being at home, Taylor said: “You’d hope so (with the) familiar surroundings. But our away record has been really impressive (too).

“It is great to have a run of games at home, to get some familiarity and to get back to the stadium.

“We’ve got the FA WSL games and in between the FA Cup game against Everton.

“We are looking forward to having our supporters behind us in a home setting. We’re looking forward to and try to make the most of that advantage.”
