Gareth Taylor has urged his players not to look too far ahead as City head into a very busy March.

We’ll play eight times across four competitions before April arrives, with four matches in the Barclays Women’s Super League, two in the Champions League, one in the FA Cup and a League Cup final.

City’s quadruple-header with Chelsea explained

With the campaign heading into a crunch period across the board, Taylor is well aware that the next few weeks could go a long way to deciding whether this term is deemed a success.

The month begins with a WSL trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday and Taylor is adamant his players are fully focused on that clash.

“When you look at this month, four competitions, work to do in the WSL for us to make the Champions League which is a priority,” he stated in Friday’s press conference.

“We have the quarter-finals of FA Cup, Champions League of course and a League Cup final wedged in.

“So four priorities, when you look at our April at the moment it looks calm but we want it to be full, which comes from success in this period.

“We have four games against Chelsea, three away games in WSL out of four, the other at the Etihad so there’s a lot going on.

“The conversations with the players are always attack the next game.

“Don’t think about too much down the road, it’s exciting and a good motivation to have a cup final.

“We worked hard to get there beating two tough opposition, it’s difficult not to have an eye on that and on Aston Villa next weekend.

“But of course we have priorities with two tough games against Spurs and West Ham away.”
