Gareth Taylor believes City’s excellent FA Cup pedigree and experience could prove a vital factor in Saturday’s semi-final encounter with West Ham.

City boast a proud record in the prestigious competition, having lifted the trophy on three previous occasions, most recently in 2020 when we overcame Everton 3-1 at Wembley.

And looking ahead to Saturday’s last four encounter with the Hammers, Taylor said that City’s FA Cup knowledge and know-how could prove invaluable this weekend.

“I think that experience and knowing what it takes to win is really important for us,” Taylor pointed out at his pre-match press conference.

“We also realise how difficult it is to get to major finals. There are no easy games, no matter what you face, some may look easier on paper but they’re not.

“Teams who get to the final four of this competition have to be respected and everyone wants to get to that major final.

“For me it’s an opportunity, a good one for us to get to a Wembley final.

“It would be amazing but there’ll be some difficult moments, we have to embrace them and look forward to them.”
