Gareth Taylor says there is 'no margin for error' for his City side as the end of the Barclays Women’s Super League campaign approaches.

City are hoping to finish as strongly as possible, finding ourselves in the thick of a four-way horse race with five games left to play.

Our next home game is against West Ham who we welcome to the Academy Stadium on Sunday 23 April, with kick-off scheduled for 18:45 (UK).

After a frustrating 2-1 defeat to third placed Arsenal before the international break, City will be looking to return to winning ways after our 14-game unbeaten run was put to an end by Jonas Eidevall’s side.

And while Taylor has been really satisfied with his players’ efforts, he explained that there can be no errors between now and the end of the season.

“There’s never margin for error. You can’t be, as much as you’d like to be, flawless all season. The team that gives up less will be the successful one. If you look at where we’ve come from, obviously we were disappointed to lose the Arsenal game when we could’ve been three or four up at half-time and dominated,” said Taylor.

“Even looking at the second half, [we were] pretty comfortable. An error that’s not cleared and the game goes away from you. That can happen, that’s football. I think in terms of performances, results from that period, from September, has been top class.

“I like what I’m seeing from the players at the moment, the contributions that are being made, football we’re playing. [I’m] Really looking forward to the end of the season.”
