City were edged out in a five-goal thriller at Wembley, as Chelsea struck in extra-time to clinch the trophy, after we had twice battled back from a goal down, thanks to goals from Lauren Hemp and a dramatic late Hayley Raso strike.
Speaking to mancity.com after the game, Taylor said he could not be more proud of his squad for their display and their character to twice come from behind, admitting the goals conceded were tough to take.

“It was a top performance,” he reflected. “Congratulations to Chelsea.
“They’re a good team. Ultimately, if you’re going to give them three goals, you’re going to make life difficult for yourself.
“I’m by no means disappointed by what we’ve done. We dominated the game and started brightly with a couple of opportunities.
“We went a goal down in a difficult moment with a bit of a flukey goal but we showed amazing character to fight back.
“In the last ten minutes, we were all over Chelsea. They were hanging on a little bit. We were controlling the game well and it looked like we’d be the ones to score a third.
“We made a slight error on the halfway line and again, a scruffy goal cost us. Sometimes that’s football but I’m immensely proud of what we’ve done.
“They were avoidable goals - the third one especially - but it takes nothing away from the effort, endeavour and courage from the players, and the way we played today.”
