City's 8-0 Women's FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest will live long in the memory for several City stars.

Gareth Taylor‘s side cruised into the next round of the competition with a sensational triumph at the City Ground, on what proved to be a record-breaking day for the Club.

Georgia Stanway netted a hat-trick to become City’s record goalscorer, while we also netted our 600th professional goal and two Academy stars Ginny Lackey and Jemima Dahou made their debuts.

Stanway could not contain her excitement at having become the Club’s top markswoman, telling mancity.com she was ‘made up’, especially having accomplished the feat with a treble, and insists she has no intention of relinquishing top spot!

“It’s a very successful day to be a City fan!” she smiled. “With a hat-trick, there was no better way to be able to do it – and with a win in which two Academy girls made their debuts.

“I think Lauren Hemp is behind me (in the scoring charts) so if I don’t pass to her, I can keep it for longer! Credit to anyone who gets to that record because I’m massively honoured to have taken over Keets, as I know how much of an unbelievable player she is.

“I’ll enjoy the moment and hopefully, someone can beat me because that means the game is getting better.

“It’s a very positive individual achievement and hopefully, I can continue to get it higher!”
