Hayley Raso says her move to Manchester City was motivated by her desire to play in the biggest games in women’s football.

The forward, who put pen to paper on a two-year deal earlier this week, admitted the opportunity to play in the Champions League, with a team fighting for trophies, was a major draw after completing her switch from Everton.

Raso feels she is ready to perform, though her initial aim is to impress new manager Gareth Taylor to earn her place in the team.

“I just want to play and perform well,” she said at her first press conference.

“But, I have said a few times now that the reason I have come over here is because they are such a quality club, amazing players and they compete for trophies and play in the Champions League.

“I want to be at that point. I feel like I am at that point of the career.

“My ambitions in coming here are to compete in those big games.”
