It’s a bumper women’s special in Inside City as we build up to the big derby clash with Manchester United.

Our cameras go behind the scenes to focus on what’s happened this week ahead of Sunday’s City v United encounter.

First up, we see Fallon Sherrock take on City stars Steph Houghton and Hayley Raso at football darts in a promo event for the World Championships at ‘Ally Pally’ later this month.

Nicknamed ‘The Queen of the Palace’, Sherrock has been a trailblazer for women’s sport and she tells us she thinks City can earn bragging rights on Sunday.

We also see Chloe Kelly and Sandy MacIver handing young supporter Hayley Tomkinson the surprise of her life.

City superfan Hayley, a pupil at Ravensbury Community School – a stone’s throw away from the Etihad Stadium – is surprised with a mascot package by the pair for the Manchester derby.

BARCLAYS WSL ETIHAD DERBY: GET YOUR TICKETS

It’s another surprise at the City Football Academy as ex-City goalkeeper Karen Bardsley, who became a Project Officer at the Club in November, gifts Manchester Metropolitan University students with tickets for Sunday’s big game.

City women are elegant on the pitch – and they’ll be the same off the field too, thanks to our Official Formalwear partnership with The Fold – with our players getting set for the derby with a suit fitting on the eve of the big game.

Also, watch City prepare for the Etihad encounter as they train in freezing cold conditions before Gareth Taylor and Laura Coombs face the media to preview the derby.

CITY V UNITED: ETIHAD DERBY

City welcome Manchester United to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday 11 December.

Kick-off is scheduled for 12:30 (UK), with tickets selling fast for our third-ever women’s match at the Etihad.

We hosted Everton there back in May 2014, before welcoming our local rivals in September 2019, when Caroline Weir’s wonder strike saw us run out 1-0 winners in front of what was then a WSL record crowd, and what remains a club record of 31, 213 fans.

With over 40,000 tickets already sold, it promises to be another historic occasion.

You can secure your tickets online by visiting: www.mancity.com/tickets/womens or by calling: +44 (0)161 444 1894.
