The Blues travel to Old Trafford on Saturday 28 March, with kick-off scheduled for 13:30 (UK) as the division’s top two lock horns.
City are currently at the table’s summit with four matches remaining, meanwhile, the hosts are eight points behind us in second place.
Victory over our cross-city rivals would further aid our pursuit of the title before the season’ end - moving us a decisive 11 points clear of second before Chelsea face Aston Villa on Sunday.
However, following a 3-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League, Skinner’s side will be determined to bounce back and avoid two derby defeats in the 2025/26 top-flight term.
Last time we faced our cross-city rivals we came away with a 3-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium as Rebecca Knaak, Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw and Lauren Hemp all found the net in the first half.
But despite confidence being high following City’s 5-2 victory over Spurs last weekend, the boss explained that both teams will be giving their all for a positive result at Old Trafford.
“These games live their own lives,” Jeglertz said.
“Because a derby in this city is always going to get in 100% energised players from both teams in the beginning. It almost doesn’t matter what tempo you start as opponent will be ready.
“These games aren’t determined by 15, 20 minutes.
“Definitely the longer the game goes, it can be a challenge but it’s how the game turns out and what happens.
“Definitely in the beginning both teams will be 100% focused and energised they really want to get three points in this game.
“I don’t think we can use that at the beginning of the game.”
