New signing Julie Blakstad says she is excited to ‘achieve something big’ at Manchester City.

The 20-year-old midfielder joins the Club on a two-and-a-half-year deal from Rosenborg in her native Norway.

Already a fully-fledged international, Blakstad believes the City Football Academy is the best place for her to maintain that rapid progression since she turned professional in 2018.

She also cited the squad’s hunger for success and silverware as a major reason behind her decision to join the Club.

“I think for me at this point it’s been important to take a new step to develop further,” she told mancity.com.

“I think this is the right place because, look at it, it’s the facilities, the staff, it has all the players.

“I think they have a real dedication and I see that the players want to achieve something big and I want to be part of that.

“It’s really exciting for me, it’s a new country, another language and I think it’ll be good for me and a good experience outside the football pitch. I think I’ll grow not only as a football player but also as a human.

“I think I’m just in the beginning and I really hope this Club can help me grow, I want to play against and be one of the best players and I hope this club can help me (do that).

“I like to see myself as an offensive player and I like to create chances and get involved in goals.

“I’m a creative and brave player and I hope to bring those qualities into City.”
