Following a trophy laden career which spans two glorious decades, the now Club Project Officer hung up her gloves at the end of the 2021/22 season.
A superb stopper, and magnificent all-round ambassador for the women’s game, Bardsley spent eight and a half years at City and proved a pivotal figure in the our success in that period.
And in a special interview, which was originally released in May 2022, she reflected on her glittering career.
“I’m really proud of my journey but I’m also proud of the way I’ve behaved with my teammates,” said Bardsley.
“I’ve always been really positive and supportive, especially with my goalkeepers, so I’m really excited to see what Ellie (Roebuck) does for the rest of her career and the likes of Mary Earps and the other goalkeepers in the England set-up.
“I take a lot of confidence from the experiences I’ve been through, and I hope that other people can be inspired by what we’ve done and the impact that we’ve had.

“Ultimately, I’m really excited about the next steps and what’s to come in the future. I’m just looking forward to giving back to the football community.
“I also just want to say thank you. It’s been a real privilege and an honour to represent everyone and be a part of such an amazing group of people. I’m really grateful.”
