Ahead of Saturday’s Continental Cup final against Chelsea, Keira Walsh has looked back on one of our recent triumphs in the competition.
Manchester City face the Blues at Wimbledon’s Plough Lane at 17:15 (UK) on Saturday 5 March, as we bid to lift the trophy we last won in 2019.
Walsh claimed her third Continental Cup success as City overcame Arsenal on penalties following a goalless draw after 120 minutes at Bramall Lane.
Karen Bardsley was the hero, saving twice to give Nick Cushing’s side a 4-2 shootout victory and, despite the close fought nature of the contest Walsh admits to being confident City would get the job done.
Watch the video above to hear the midfield’s reasons behind her confidence, her praise for Bardsley and the togetherness which underpinned the team’s success, as well as her thoughts on Saturday’s encounter with Chelsea.
