Kerstin Casparij has told City fans she is ready to play the passing style that Gareth Taylor's team are known for.

Speaking in her first interview as a City player, the 21-year-old right wing-back outlined the skills she has to adapt to life at the Academy Stadium.

A Netherlands international and Eredivisie champion with FC Twente, Casparij brings a wealth of experience for a player so young.

Her pace and attacking intent is sure to excite fans across the Barclays Women’s Super League and she told us she can’t wait to get started.

“I am overjoyed,” she said.

“I can’t describe it. I am really looking forward to playing for this beautiful club.

“I am a modern right wing-back, I am quick. I love playing it over the ground, I really want to play the Manchester City style. You’ve got an impressive team and I hope to be a great addition.”

“I felt like the whole club is a family. If I am going to make that big step, I want it to feel like a family club. It’s a strength and if you want to be competing with the best and winning titles you have to have that feeling.”
