Kestin Casparij believes the hard work of the team on the training pitch is what contributed to our goalscoring form during City’s 4-0 Barclays Women’s Super League win over Leicester City.

It took Gareth Taylor’s side less than two minutes to take the lead against Leicester.

Prolific striker Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw opening the scoring before adding a second which was followed up by second half strikes from Jess Park and Mary Fowler.

The Jamaica international was teed up beautifully by Casparij for our first; the defender’s floated cross headed home comfortably.

And it was a routine the duo had practised a lot in training, the Dutch international explained.

“[We are] very pleased [with the result]. It [Joie Stadium] feels like our fortress. So nine wins out of nine is not bad,” said Casparij.

“Bun Bun [Bunny Shaw] and I have been practising the other day in training, since coming back from the international break, practising the crosses.

“So yeah, very very pleased.”
