New signing Khadija Shaw says she can’t wait to get started with Manchester City.

The exciting Jamaican international striker has signed a three-year contract with the Club and will officially make the move from French side Bordeaux at the start of July.

The 24-year-old ended a hugely impressive 2020/21 campaign as the leading scorer in Division One Feminine, scoring 22 goals to claim the Golden Boot.

Khadija – who is better known as ‘Bunny’ – also boasts a hugely impressive strike rate at international level, having claimed an astonishing 42 goals from her 30 caps to date with the Reggae Girlz.

And, in her first interview with CityTV, Khadija revealed how thrilled she was about linking up with Gareth Taylor’s squad.

“I’m very excited to join Manchester City and can’t wait to start training.” Shaw declared.

“I feel Manchester City will be the perfect fit for me. Going forward is what I like. I love attacking and being in the box and scoring goals and if the team is happy then I am as well.

“The way that the club is, the style of play of the men and women is similar and it’s an environment where both teams can come together on the same level playing field. I feel very fortunate to be a part of City.”

Khadija also revealed how she hailed from a family of City fans.

“My Dad’s side of the family live in the Manchester and when I told them I was coming to play for City they were so excited,” she explained.

During the interview, Khadija also lifts the lid on how she acquired her nickname of Bunny!
