Khiara Keating says being a Manchester City Academy graduate is a source of great pride.

A former Manchester United junior, Keating moved to City in 2015 aged 11 and has been working her way through the ranks ever since.

Now in her eighth year with the Blues, the 19-year-old keeper says she and other team-mates such as Esme Morgan and Jess Park will hopefully inspire the next generation of young stars to believe anything is possible.

“It’s always special to play but knowing you came through the Academy,” said Keating.

“It shows the girls in the Academy right now that everything is possible, even from a young age.

“It just shows what Manchester City is all about, putting trust in younger players and giving them the platform to succeed and do well.”

And asked what she was hoping to achieve after penning a contract extension to 2027, she said: “Just development, I’m still so young but the sky’s the limit.”

And her message to the City fans?

“I just can’t wait to get on the pitch for another three years and show you what I’m about.
