Congratulations to Khiara Keating on receiving her first senior England call-up.

Having worked her way through the ranks at the Club, the 19-year-old has enjoyed an incredible start to the 2023/24 campaign.

Keating has started each of City’s three Barclays Women’s Super League clashes so far this season, claiming clean sheets against West Ham United and Bristol City.

And while she was unable to prevent Chelsea from grabbing a stoppage time equaliser earlier this month, the youngster’s exploits between the sticks saw her deservedly named Player of the Match at the Joie Stadium.

It’s a remarkable rise for a player who has made just 11 senior appearances for Gareth Taylor‘s side.

Her exploits have been rewarded with a spot alongside six of her City team-mates in the latest England squad ahead of the Lionesses’ UEFA Women’s Nations League double header against Belgium.

In the above interview, Khiara reacts to the news of her call-up, and admits she missed the initial call from manager Sarina Wiegman!
