Laura Coombs has told City TV that she believes her best is still to come at Manchester City.

The England international has signed a new two-year contract extension with the Club, taking her through to the summer of 2023, and says she is thrilled to have committed her future to City.

And, speaking in the wake of penning her new deal, the former Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal attacking midfielder is adamant that she can further develop her game after an impressive 2020/21 campaign.

“This year in glimpses I’ve shown what I can bring but I know going forward there is a lot more that I can improve on and bring as well,” Coombs declared.

“I feel settled here both on and off the pitch. As players you are treated like the ultimate professional

Looking ahead to next season and beyond, Coombs also asserted that she believed the City squad will go from strength to strength after an impressive first season under the leadership of manager Gareth Taylor.

“As a group we have some amazing talents,” the 30-year-old continued.

“We’ve had a bedding-in period and I think, looking forward, that we have one of the best groups in the country and how we far we go is down to us.”
