Laura Coombs believes Manchester City is the best place for her to keep learning and improving.

The midfielder has signed a new two-year contract extension, committing her future to the Club until 2025.

With 79 appearances to her name across three-and-a-half seasons at the Academy Stadium to date, Coombs’ longevity and experience have proven crucial to a new-look squad across 2022/23.

Afforded greater responsibility in the midfield this season, the 32-year-old is currently enjoying a standout campaign for Gareth Taylor’s side.

Indeed, the midfielder’s four strikes and four assists already represents her best scoring tally with the season just over the halfway point.

Speaking to mancity.com about her contract extension, she insists that believes that she is in the perfect environment to continue honing her craft.

“Being here with these facilities and the calibre of player, it’s hard not to develop,” Coombs reflected.

“Anyone who comes here knows they’ll develop, and that was a big reason for me coming here.

“I think as long as I’m here I’ll continue to develop.

“As a person, the world’s been through a lot in the last four years, and I just really value and know what’s important to me now.

“I’ve grown up a lot and will hopefully grow up a lot more too.”
