The England international started and played 74 minutes at Walton Hall Park as a sublime Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw hat-trick and Jill Roord’s strike extended our winning league streak to four matches.
By racking up a century of outings for the Club, she becomes the latest in a stellar list of names to reach the milestone including Steph Houghon, Jill Scott and Alex Greenwood.
As perhaps expected, it’s a source of immense pride for Coombs who believes Gareth Taylor’s current side is one of the most exciting she’s played with.
“It’s really good. I didn’t know it was coming up to be honest, but super happy to make it,” she declared.
“It’s been great, four-and-a-half seasons, and I’m glad to have made the milestone.
“This time, [the team] feels really young, energetic and with a great future ahead of us. I think it feels really fresh at the minute and everyone is competing for spaces.
“It’s probably been the most competitive [because] anyone could be out there. It really feels like that in training which creates a really good atmosphere. Everyone’s playing a great part in it.
“We just wanted to go out and wanted to end the year on a high, get a lot of goals – we were a little disappointed we conceded, but it’s still a good result for us and puts us in a good spot for starting the next year.”
