Fans of Gareth Taylor’s side have come accustomed to Hemp’s dazzling performances on the wing since she signed from Bristol City in 2018.
Since then, she’s made over 100 appearances for the Club, scored 50 goals, lifted two major honours and been named PFA Young Player of the Year on three separate occasions.
There’s also the small matter of her being an integral part of England’s Euro 2022 triumph last summer.
That impressive form has continued this season, and she could feature in our huge Barclays Women’s Super League meeting with Chelsea on Sunday, March 26.
But, at the age of 15, she had to make the difficult decision to focus on either football or cricket – choosing the former.
Someone who has trodden a similar path is Threlkeld, who featured for Liverpool and Wigan’s youth football teams before opting to pursue a career in cricket.
After making her Lancashire debut at just 14, the right-hand batter and wicket keeper became one of the 41 female cricketers to sign an historic full-time domestic contract in December 2022.
At Sixes Social Cricket bar in Manchester, the pair talk through a variety of topics including how family influenced their sporting paths, their decisions between cricket and football, the changes in women’s sport and much more.
What’s more, 24-year-old Threlkeld showcases her skills in the nets, while Hemp talks through the expert shots on display.
