The City and England winger opened her senior account in some style on Tuesday, bagging four in one game as the Lionesses thrashed Latvia 20-0!
Though the game had marked only her 14th international cap, such is Hemp’s impressive form that many had predicted her to have found the net earlier in her international career.
The 21-year-old believes the moment felt all the sweeter for the wait, admitting she could not concentrate for the rest of the first half!

“It’s been pretty unforgettable,” she smiled. “We had a great camp with great results. It’s one I’ll never forget.
“Scoring my first goal was an unbelievable feeling and I’m lucky to be able to do that surrounded by some of the best players in the country.
“Just to get on the scoresheet for me was unbelievable. I couldn’t concentrate for the next 15 minutes or even until the end of the half!
“It’s exciting times and I’m glad I got it out of the way because I was eagerly awaiting that first goal!
“I couldn’t really believe it. Me and Beth Mead swapped wings as she was getting a lot of joy down her side and two seconds into me being on the right, we scored!
“It was unforgettable. That feeling of the ball hitting the back of the net, there’s nothing like it! In big games and for it to have been my first goal, it’s hard to hide your emotions when you’re that excited!
“Getting four for me was unbelievable - I don’t think I’d ever scored a hat-trick in my life so that was really special and to have done it on one of the biggest stages was unbelievable.
“I definitely want to kick on now. It’s an important time to be a City player and for your country. I’m hoping to bring that goal to City now.
“Now my first [England] goal is out of the way, hopefully I can continue to contribute in any way possible to help the Club to achieve success this year.”
