Lauren Hemp admits the feeling of lifting the Barclays Women’s Super League trophy almost made her shed a happy tear.

The England winger is our longest serving player and had won four domestic titles during her time in Manchester before the start of the 2025/26 campaign.

But the league title had alluded her and City, until our march to top spot this season with the Blues leading the way since early November.

And Hemp admitted that the experience of lifting the WSL trophy in front of our travelling fans was an emotional moment.

She said: “I’ve been at this club for eight years and the league is the one that I’ve always wanted to get my hands on.

“To finally be able to do that is such a special feeling.

“I actually stated to tear up, I was like ‘Lauren, you’re not usually emotional, what are you doing?’

“I can’t quite believe it, to be honest.

“To be able to share this with this group, see how many people are here today and to share the moment with the fans and our families, it’s been so nice to finally be able to do that.”
