Lauren Hemp can't wait to see City's raft of new signings in action as we begin our 2024/25 season this week.

We travel to Paris FC on Wednesday for a 17:45 (UK) in the first leg of our second round qualifying clash.

It marks our first competitive encounter since taking last term’s Barclays Women’s Super League title race down to the final day.

Since then, we have added six players to Gareth Taylor‘s squad including four full internationals.

Goalkeepers Ayaka Yamashita and Katie Startup will provide competition for Khiara Keating while Naomi Layzell will be vying for a role in defence.

Fellow defender Risa Shimizu faces a lengthy spell on the sideline after picking up an injury, but forwards Aoba Fujino and Vivianne Miedema will be hoping to make an early impact.

Hemp is delighted with what she’s seen from the latest additions.

“They’ve all settled really well,” she said in a press conference on Monday afternoon.

“They’re all talented players and we’ve recruited well.

“You saw in a few pre-season games how easy they fitted in.

“Viv [Miedema] scored the winning penalty in the first game in Australia, Aoba made a big impact and so did many of the other girls and I’m excited to see that carry on through the season.”
