After we raced into a 2-0 lead inside 12 minutes against the Vixens, the pair combined to stretch our lead further when the Jamaican headed home the silky winger’s pinpoint cross on 30 minutes.
It was Shaw’s 13th strike of what has been a standout season so far for Gareth Taylor‘s side, while Hemp increased her personal tally to seven assists across 2022/23.
And the England international believes that the partnership allows them both to thrive.
“It’s fantastic [playing with Bunny]. I’ve spoken about it before, I know whenever I get the ball into Bunny she’s going to create something and create a moment for us,” she explained.
“She’s a match winner and she proved that tonight as she does every single game.
“It’s so nice to play with her because I know where she wants the ball and some of the time I don’t get it to her but she’s pushing me as a player as well.
“I know if I put it in the right spaces Bunny’s going to be there and she’ll score.”
After Shaw made the scoreline 3-0, Hemp soon turned from provider to scorer as she netted either side of half-time.
The brace represented her fourth and fifth goals of 2022/23, as she bagged against her former employers.
And the 22-year-old was delighted to see her hard work in training pay off.
She added: “Yeah, of course, it’s nice to get on the scoresheet and contribute where I can.
“I’m really pushing myself to try be more consistent and it starts on the training pitch.
“I’ve been pushed by the manager and the players to make sure I’m being consistent and it’s important we got that tonight because it does give me confidence in myself as well.
“It’s nice to contribute where I can.”
