On her birthday and ahead of our upcoming tour of Australia, we look back to Lauren Hemp's reaction to her magnificent strike in City's dramatic WSL win over Leicester last season.

The winger provided the moment of world class quality we needed late on to break the Foxes’ stubborn resistance.

Meeting Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw’s cross with her back to goal, Hemp sent a remarkable back-heeled volley into the corner of the net past Lize Kop to open the scoring.

Chloe Kelly then followed that up with an impressive strike of her own, finding the net directly from a corner minutes later.

It capped off a deserved but hard-fought three points for City, who have now won each of our last eight matches in all competitions.

And Hemp paid a visit to City Studios to react to her remarkable strike and reflect on another memorable performance from Gareth Taylor‘s side.

After discussing her own goal and Kelly’s she also looked ahead to a busy week for the Club, with a Continental Cup clash at Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday followed by an FA Cup fifth round clash away to Arsenal on Sunday.

It’s a busy period for City, but Hemp is excited by what the season has to offer as we approach its business end.
