A Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw header and a Chloe Kelly screamer secured a 2-0 Barclays Women’s Super League success at the King Power Stadium.
Gareth Taylor’s side started in strong fashion, testing the Foxes ‘keeper Janina Leitzig with a number of high-quality efforts in the opening exchanging.
But it was the Bayern Munich loanee who was often a thorn in our side as she continued to produce a swathe of sensational saves to keep the scoreline level going into half-time and 20 minutes after the restart.
However, Leitzig was finally beaten on 61 minutes by a moment of quality from Bunny as the Jamaican directed a deft header into the goal via the crossbar.
Then Kelly doubled our advantage shortly after as she received the ball on the right hand side before cutting inside onto her left foot and unleashing a venomous effort into the side netting.
