Watch the key moments from City's opening pre-season game with Leicester City in Perth, Australia.

The first game of pre-season can often be the hardest but City were keen to continue our usual style of play which consisted of playing out from the back and keeping possession of the ball as much as possible.

The opening 45 minutes saw Gareth Taylor‘s side poke and prod at an organised Leicester team that proved they were dangerous on the break.

However, neither team broke the deadlock come the interval.

A flurry of substitutes from both teams throughout the second half saw the intensity increase. City’s new keeper Ayaka Yamashita was called into action to deny our opponents from taking the lead.

At the other end of the pitch, near full-time, new City forward Vivianne Miedema saw her headed effort rattle the crossbar shortly before she was brought down in the box but no penalty was awarded.

So a penalty shoot-out was needed to decide a winner. Two saves from Yamashita helped City win 4-3 and advance to the final of the Perth International Cup.
