The lifelong blue and Academy graduate first set up Laura Coombs’ opener at Leigh Sports Village before she restored our lead when sending a venomous effort into the net via the post.
It means the teenager, who penned her first professional contract earlier this term, now has two goals and one assist in 12 outings for the Club this term as her sparkling development continues.
And Murphy believes City’s performance against Marc Skinner’s side shows the Blues’ togetherness as we booked our place in the last-eight.
“It’s an incredible feeling, to do it in front of the fans as well who have come down, it’s unreal,” she declared.
“It just gives you more fight to do it again and hopefully get the win. I think we all had that fire in us. We wanted to be strong, but I think we put it all out there and did great.
“I think stepping up is the biggest part. I’m just trying to take the opportunities where I can and hopefully do well.
“I tried it [the shot], but it didn’t work so I was determined to do it again and it paid off.
“I think today just shows the resilience we’ve got to bounce back as a team and the group we are.”
