Lily Murphy says team-mate Chloe Kelly has played an important role in hear early development in City’s senior side.

The 18-year-old forward has signed her first professional contract with the Club having progressed through the ranks at the City Football Academy.

An England Under-19 international blessed with searing pace and an eye for goal, Murphy is eyeing further minutes in the first team after impressing in several cameos from the bench.

The teenager also believes she’s learning all the time, particularly how to be more clinical in front of goal thanks to the advice of Kelly.

Asked where she feels she’s grown the most, Murphy said: “I’m quite fast and direct. I like to be on the attack and cause problems for the opposition… [but] I think my finishing and decision making in the final third.

“For example, Chloe [Kelly] has really helped me with that. She’s obviously gone through it herself, so she knows what it’s like.

“[My targets are] Just to try and get minutes when I can.
“And when I’m on the pitch, to help my team out, be positive and go towards goal if I can.”
