Gareth Taylor has praised Haley Raso’s desire to score the winning goal against Liverpool in the Barclay’s Women’s Super League.

City had to battle hard to beat Liverpool 2-1 at the Academy Stadium, making it four wins in four matches.

Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw scored the opening goal of the game before Liverpool’s Katie Stengal equalised before half time.

But it was Hayley Raso who smashed in the winner late on and speaking to mancity.com at the end of the match, Gareth Taylor took the time to praise the Australian on her goal.

“Hayley is just so dangerous, she’s so quick, so brave and she gets into good positions,” he said.

“I think the goal really epitomised her, she didn’t score the first attempt but she’s the first one off the floor to belt in the rebound.

“We are really pleased for her, and we gave her a special mention at the end because we expect those players to come on and have an effect.

“It’s really difficult to come onto a high tempo game like that was today.”
