At 11:15 (UK)/18:15 (AWST) on Wednesday 28 August, the HBF Park in Perth, Australia will host City’s first pre-season friendly ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
The winner of the match will go on to play either Paris Saint-Germain or West Ham in the final of the Perth International Football Cup.
In anticipation of the clash, we look back at how City pulled off a remarkable 2-0 win in the closing stages of our Barclays Women’s Super League clash with the Foxes.
As the clock ticked past the 80 minute mark, it appeared Gareth Taylor’s side would have to settle for a frustrating point against a determined Foxes side.
However, we eventually found the opener when Lauren Hemp produced a moment of brilliance, with a superb, improvised strike from close range.
Although slightly harsh on the visitors who defended valiantly, it was what the hosts deserved.

And City doubled our advantage soon after when Chloe Kelly’s whipped corner evaded everyone inside the box and nestled in the far corner.
The win extended our winning streak to eight matches ahead of another busy week of action for City, which includes a Continental Cup quarter-final against Tottenham Hotspur and a fifth round FA Cup clash at Arsenal.
