Watch the best bits from City’s statement win over Barcelona in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Gareth Taylor‘s side marked our return to the UEFA Champions League proper by beating the holders in front of a record Joie Stadium crowd.

Naomi Layzell opened the scoring with her first senior goal, firing home from a corner after meeting Vivianne Miedema‘s knockdown at the far post.

She then set up Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw with 20 to play, allowing the Jamaican to round Barcelona stopper Cata Coll and fire into an empty net.

It was just rewards for City, who became only the second side in the last 80 matches to prevent the visitors from scoring.

Both sides had further chances to score with Caroline Graham Hansen and Lauren Hemp both hitting the post, but it was the Blues who ultimately came out on top in our Group D opener.
