Watch the extended highlights from City’s hard fought 1-0 Barclays Women’s Super League success over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Gareth Taylor’s side entered the meeting following a 3-0 Champions League qualification win over Paris FC that secured our place in the competition’s group stage.

Following the triumph over the French outfit, we were back in action at the Joie Stadium less than 72 hours later for our first home league assignment of the term.

During an evenly contested first half where both teams carved out strong chances, Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw’s maiden WSL goal of the term broke the deadlock.

It came after Player of the Match Ayaka Yamashita denied Fran Kirby from close range before Gareth Taylor’s side sparked a clinical counter-attack.

This allowed Kerstin Casparij to receive the ball on the left from Lauren Hemp before the Netherlands international delivered a pinpoint cross which was poked into the net by Bunny from close range.

The good news continued in Manchester when Jill Roord made her first outing in eight months after completing her rehabilitation from an ACL injury sustained in January.

She then helped us hold on for three previous points and our first in the division this season as our unbeaten run in all competitions stretched to four straight matches.
