It’s one of the most hotly-anticipated fixtures of the season, and pits the runaway WSL leaders against our nearest rivals.
Nine points separate the sides ahead of kick-off with nine matches to play this season, with the league’s best attack this season taking on its meanest defence.
City come into the tie on the back of an incredible 12-match winning run in the WSL, and victory number 13 would provide a major boost to our rapidly developing title ambitions.
However, the only side to get the better of the Blues this season are Sunday’s opponents, winning the reverse WSL fixture and our League Cup semi-final earlier this month.

Chelsea have proven in recent years that they know how to get over the line when it matters, but Andrée Jeglertz’s side have also shown an incredible never-say-die attitude this season when it matters.
Indeed, no side has scored more goals in the final 15 minutes across the WSL in 2025/26 than City, who will hope to emulate the incredible performance we put on in our most recent Etihad fixture.
Goals from Rebecca Knaak, Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw and Lauren Hemp saw the Blues beat Manchester United 3-0 back in November.
A similar performance will be needed this weekend against a side who’ve won the last six WSL titles in a row.
City know a positive result on Sunday will go a long way towards ending that dominance.
