Watch the best of the action from City’s 3-1 win over Everton in the Subway Women’s League Cup.

Goals from Jade Rose, Yui Hasegawa and Vivianne Miedema meant we began our Group A journey in the best possible fashion as Andrée Jeglertz’s side made it three wins in succession in all competitions.

The Canada international opened the scoring with her first for the Club after signing this summer when prodding the ball into the net from close range following Leila Ouahabi’s vicious corner into the box.

We then held that narrow lead into half-time thanks, in-part, to a string of impressive saves by Eartha Cumings on debut after her summer arrival from Rosengard.

REPORT | CITY 3-1 EVERTON

City doubled our lead shortly after the interval when Hasegawa had regained possession and then tucked into an empty net after Miedema saw her shot saved.

But the Netherlands international did write her name onto the scoresheet when heading home Iman Beney’s pinpoint cross from the left after fine work down the wing by the Swiss ace.

Everton then sealed a consolation late on when Hikaru Kitagawa curled an unstoppable effort into the top corner from range.
