First half goals from Lauren Hemp and Chloe Kelly set Gareth Taylor’s side on our way to a deserved 2-1 victory over the Gunners at the Academy Stadium.
The victory, which extended our unbeaten run in the WSL to 11 matches, came just three days after we’d faced Jonas Eidevall’s side in the Continental Cup semi-finals.
City had been knocked out in heartbreaking fashion down in London, being edged out 1-0 after extra time following Stina Blackstenius’ close-range strike.

However, as the above clip from Rise reveals, the setback simply provided further motivation to put things right at the Joie Stadium that weekend.
Taylor’s side were on top from the get-go and cruised to a two-goal lead at the break, with Rafaelle’s strike on the hour proving a mere consolation.
