And it was all smiles after a summer break before they were put through their paces in their first session back at the City Football Academy.
Among those taking part were summer signing Vivianne Miedema, who was introduced to the City fans at a special event on Sunday.
Some players are still absent having been on duty for their countries at the Paris Olympics but Gareth Taylor and his squad will be ready for an exciting campaign with City back in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
