Andrée Jeglertz’s side extended our lead at the division’s summit to 11 points thanks to an emphatic 6-0 success at the Joie Stadium.
In a bid to bounce back from our defeat to Arsenal, first-half goals from Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw, Vivianne Miedema (two) and Yui Hasegawa ensured we entered the interval with a deserved, commanding lead.
The Jamaican opened the scoring with a trademark header before WSL recorder scorer Miedema doubled our lead with a header of her own and slammed home to secure a brace.
Hasegawa then added further gloss to the first-half display with a well-taken finish after collecting a Kerolin cut-back.
City commitment to the cause didn’t waiver following the interval and the Brazilian got in on the act with a rocket into the top corner before Aoba Fujino rounded off the scoring with a coolly dispatched finish.
