Gareth Taylor’s side welcomed the Londoners to the Academy Stadium looking to move to second and above Emma Hayes’ side in the Barclays Women’s Super League table.
And we did just that thanks to two sensational first-half goals from Filippa Angeldahl and Lauren Hemp.
The Swede gave us the lead on 21-minutes when she impressively chipped Ann-Katrin Berger from the inside right edge of the box.
That gave us the impetus to push for a second and it arrived nine minutes later when Lauren Hemp fizzed an effort into the top corner after Laura Coombs teed up the winger.
Following a dogged second-half display, we maintained our sixth league clean sheet of the season to gain three points as as our title bid gathered pace.
