City sit top of Group D with four wins from four and have now qualified for the quarterfinals.
But the Blues’ boss says the hard work continues with further goals to achieve before the knockout stages.
“Our objective was to qualify and when you looked at the nature of the group there are good teams, and one very good team who have been at the top for a long time,” said Taylor.
“We’re under no illusions we had work to do but we took it, as boring as it sounds, on a game by game basis and before we know it, four games in and we’re top of the league which may surprise a few people.
“For us it’s about continuing on with these final two games - the first objective is achieved, then can we finish top.
“I learned there are no easy games in the Champions League regardless of what you see on paper previously.
“Away [to St Polten was an eye opener and lot of learnings for sure.
“If I’m honest, I made maybe too many changes in that game and had to get some personnel on the pitch.
“Lauren, Jill, Laia made a big difference, we are a young team, but we had an exceptionally young team out that night.
“It’s a big ask for academy players to play. I was really impressed by the way the game turned out. Mary scored there and scored weekend and is playing some really good football.
“We always go into every game to win regardless of who we play.
“Fortunately having good players and good teams I’ve never had anything other than that on my mind.
This season has been very good in the sense that we’re a third of the way in the WSL, into the latter UCL group stages. Played 15 won 13 drew 1 lost 1. In general performances and results have been very good.”
