The best of the action from City's dominant Barclays Women's Super League win at Old Trafford.

A Vivianne Miedema brace and Kerstin Casparij strike sealed a statement victory against our rivals, moving us within five points of the WSL title in the process.

City were on top from the get-go and deservedly took the lead after 17 minutes when Miedema glanced Alex Greenwood’s corner home.

She would repeat the trick just two minutes later, stealing a yard on Maya Le Tissier to head home Casparij’s cross as the Blues made our pressure count.

It could even have been three before the break, with Rebecca Knaak’s celebrations cut short after Aoba Fujino was adjudged to have obstructed United goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce from a corner.

But we didn’t have to wait long for a third, with Casparij’s run to the far post spotted by Lauren Hemp early in the second half as the defender smashed home from close-range.

It was a dominant display from the Blues, and one that completed a WSL double over our rivals after November’s 3-0 triumph at the Etihad Stadium.
