'It's been fabulous' - Esme Morgan sums up her time with City in a special farewell interview with Nedum Onuoha.

After nine years with the team she’s supported all her life, the popular defender chats with Nedum in an emotional reflection of her time at City.

Esme has taken the option to join Washington Spirit to follow her dream of becoming one of the best players in the world, but she leaves behind a legion of friends and supporters who became her family.

With 85 appearances for the Blues, she now heads to the US for a new adventure, but admits leaving the Club is a huge wrench.

“I’ve been so lucky and I’ve made friends for life,” she says.

“It’s difficult, but at the moment I’m in, I need to play consistently and develop into the player I want to be.

“Representing the fans on the pitch for the club I love  has been amazing  - City is my home and I love everyone here.

“When I leave for the last time, I’ll probably bawling my eyes out!

“But I want to be one of the best in the world and I believe I can, so now is the right time to move on and take on a new challenge.”
