The Club announced a historic deal with Joie in September, which saw the baby gear brand become the official stadium naming partner for the Academy Stadium.
In doing so, City became the first side in the WSL to secure a commercial agreement for the renaming of their stadium.
The first WSL match to be played at the newly-named Joie Stadium certainly didn’t disappoint, with Gareth Taylor‘s side grinding out a 1-1 draw with Chelsea, despite being reduced to nine players.
But the significance of the deal was also felt off the pitch, with fans getting involved in several activities before the match to celebrate the occasion.
With this in mind, we asked some of our players for their thoughts on the Joie Stadium agreement, and its significance to both the Club and Women’s football on the whole.
