Nick Cushing says City are determined to deliver a performance our supporters will be proud of in Sunday’s seismic Manchester derby.

The Blues lock horns with Marc Skinner’s side on Sunday 4 May in the Barclays Women’s Super League, with kick-off at Old Trafford scheduled for 12:00 (UK).

It represents the fourth time the sides have met this term and the latest meeting could influence who finishes in the precious final Champions League qualification spot at the end of the term.

Cushing’s team currently sit fourth, four points behind United with two matches to play ahead of our final day assignment with Crystal Palace.

A win for City at Old Trafford will take the race for Champions League football to the final day of the term when Skinner’s team travel to second-place Arsenal.

However, our interim head coach believes we’ll have to be at our very best to collect a vital three points on Sunday.

MATCH PREVIEW | UNITED V CITY

“We’re excited for the game, we know the magnitude of the game,” Cushing declared.

“[We’re] keen to put in a performance that our fans can be proud of. We were disappointed in the FA Cup game and we know we lost the game at the Etihad.

“There is a lot of desire and motivation but we also respect that they’re in form.

“They’re a good team and the last few games haven’t gone our way so we know we have to make sure we’re at our best on Sunday.”
