The best of the action from City’s narrow defeat against Real Madrid in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Gareth Taylor’s side fell short in Madrid as former Manchester City player, Caroline Weir’s strike on 15 minutes saw Real Madrid knock the Blues out of the competition.
After winning the ball, Weir received Esther Gonzalez’s neat lay off and dribbled past Aleixandri in the box before firing a shot past Ellie Roebuck, to give the Spaniards a deserved lead.
City rallied back in the closing stages, but Lauren Hemp’s low drive past the post was as close as Taylor’s side came to levelling the scores.
After the international break, City’s attention turns to the new FA WSL season, starting with Arsenal at the Academy Stadium.
