Rebecca Knaak previews the Manchester derby as the tantalising clash at Old Trafford comes into focus.

Andrée Jeglertz’s side travel across the city to face Marc Skinner’s Manchester United in the Barclays Women’s Super League tomorrow at 13:30 (UK).

The Blues enter the fixture at the division’s summit, meanwhile our cross-city rivals are just eight points below us in second.

City came out 3-0 victors last time we faced the Red Devils with Knaak opening the scoring at the Etihad Stadium.

Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw and Lauren Hemp followed in her footsteps as the Blues put on a devastatingly brilliant performance in front of the Citizens.

Speaking on the game the defender said, “it was one of the crazier games, I would say.

“We played really well and I enjoyed that game.

“That [scoring] was a big moment.

“In the big stadium against United, that’s the best thing that could happen, so I was very happy with that.”

The German international is prolific when facing United, heading home at the Etihad Stadium during the 2024/25 season.

In fact, the 29-year-old has scored in every derby game she has been involved in, netting at Old Trafford in the 2024/25 derby against the Reds.

“Our last game at Old Trafford was a fight, it was a big game as well and obviously this season we really want to win there,” Knaak added.

“It’s one of the big games coming up and we’re really looking forward to that.

“The motivation is as high as it can be.”
