Rebecca Knaak has described her key qualities on the field after signing for Manchester City.

And the German defender is hoping to develop at the Club to help aid our pursuit of major trophies.

The versatile centre back has become the Blues’ maiden January arrival, signing until the summer of 2026 following an illustrious three-year stay at Rosengard between 2022 and 2024.

While plying her trade for the Swedish outfit, she helped them to two Damallsvenskan titles and the 2022 Svenska Cupen.

What’s more, Knaak was voted the division’s Defender of the Year at the end of its latest term as Joel Kjetselberg’s side triumphed at the table’s summit.

Following her arrival at the Joie Stadium, she believes she’s entering the second half of the 2024/25 season in a strong place – but reiterated her desire to continue to improve.

“I think I’m good at reading the game. I’m quite tall and good in aerial duels – I would say that’s one of my biggest strengths,” she explained.

“And maybe my passing game in general with my left foot is one of my biggest strengths I would say.

“I’m at a really good level right now. I think my time at Rosengard really helped me develop also in all parts.

“So maybe the last season was one of my best ones and obviously the whole team played so well. So, it was also easier for me and every player individually to also have good performances.

“I think it was a great season and now it was time for the next step.

“I really hope I can contribute with my strengths and get better in every part of my play too so I can help the team and the Club.”
