A sneak peek from when Sandy MacIver learned to never doubt Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw’s scoring abilities on 'Rise: The Story of our Season'.

Shaw enjoyed a phenomenal season in front of goal in 2022/23, finishing the campaign with 31 strikes in just 30 appearances in all competitions.

She’d broken the record for the most goals in a single season for our Women’s team by March and would even be included in both the PFA Team of the Year and 2023 Ballon d’Or shortlist.

The Jamaican international enjoyed a particular standout game in early March against Tottenham Hotspur, when her hat-trick helped City to a 3-1 win at the Joie Stadium.

The majority of the 3,500-strong crowd were delighted by Shaw’s exploits as she claimed the match ball, as well as the manager and her team-mates.

Well, all except for one!

In Rise: The Story of our Season, the forward looks back on a friendly bet that she’d made with Sandy MacIver ahead of the clash.

Following a conversation at breakfast, our goalkeeper had promised to copy Bunny’s braids if she grabbed a hat-trick against Spurs.

When the Jamaican held up her side of the bargain, Sandy obliged – much to the amusement of the rest of the squad!
