Our first signing of the January transfer window, the US international joins the Club from Portland Thorns on a deal until the summer of 2029.
The midfielder was included in the NWSL Best XI in three of her four seasons at the Thorns, and captained the side to the Play-Off semi-finals in her final campaign.
A key cog in the United States midfield, Coffey has won Olympic Gold with the Stars and Stripes, as well as the SheBelieves Cup, CONCACAF Women’s Championship and CONCACAF Gold Cup.
She arrives with a reputation as one of the finest midfielders in the game, and was straight into the action on her first day at City.
Coffey explained in her signing interview how the Blues’ style of play was a key factor in her decision to join, and she looked right at home in a sequence of small-sided matches.
